Embarassing, I know. Shhh! Don't tell anyone, but I think I'll always have a crush on Death Cab for Cutie guitarist/producer Chris Walla, with his expensive haircut and deadly cheekbones and well, killer chops (seriously, watching him perform is fascinating) -- not to mention that whole running (setting up?) really nice recording studio thing (hott!). See him and the Gibs rip it up, acoustic style, on Sessions at AOL. It's a nice set, though Mr. Ben Gibbard's comment in the interview about how they're no longer flying the indie rock flag was a little uh, depressing.

i remember when death cab albums came standard issue in girls' mailboxes along with glossy photos of ben gibbard covering his naughty bits with copies of the first decemberists album
it was a simpler time.
Oh Walla, you big liarpants. If you weren't making a living off of being in DCFC, you'd make a great living off recording other people's records. Don't lie. You wouldn't be a barista.
Ryan: Oh, those were the days, all right! (Please don't ever make me think about the Gibs in the buff again, 'kay?)
Kate: I know, right? Can we smack him upside the head? Whatevs Walla!
pinkie would like to register that she so has never owned a death cab record. ever. it's that genre of indie i don't understand, which is joined to my suspicion that the gibbs has no naughty bits to cover with said record from the equally defanged mr. meloy. as cindy pointed out re: a certain mr. oberst, the masculinity that is presented in this genre is so unthreatening. of course this whole argument makes me embarrassed, since i have to admit that whatever i'm listening to must bring teh seX0r. =P
