The Rich Girls Are Weeping

05 October 2006

I love this junk shop glam rock discotheque... We will really miss our regular gig at the Chain Drive -- including our ability to play everything from Herb Alpert to The Stranglers to Luxxury to Marlene Dietrich and whatever else strikes our fancy. Strike this item off that list of things to do before we die: We had a dj residency at a leather bar. And I think they loved us -- we sure loved them. Thanks, guys! Here's the setlists, complete with links to songs we may have written about/posted in the past. Because we're nice like that. (Thx also to everyone who came out last night!)

Solvent -- My Radio // Rizzo and Pizzo -- 2 of Hearts // Associates -- Heart of Glass // Depeche Mode -- Flexible // Luxxxury -- Dirty Girls Need Love Too // Japan -- Adolescent Sex // Goldfrapp -- Ride a White Horse // Berlin -- No More Words // Sparks and Jane Weidlin -- Cool Places // Yaz -- Only You // Book of Love -- Modigliani

Strawberry Switchblade -- Since Yesterday // Trembling Blue Stars -- The Sea Is So Quiet // Spandau Ballet -- The Freeze // Velveteen -- Combo Boys // Cyndi Lauper -- Maybe He'll Know // Waitresses -- Pussy Strut // Martha & the Muffins -- Danseparc

Johnny Boy -- Johnny Boy Theme // Elton Mortello -- Jet Boy Jet Girl // Roxy Music -- Virginia Plain // The Stranglers -- Duchess // Ciccone Youth -- Into the Groovy // Calexico -- Alone Again, Or

Yeah Yeah Yeahs -- Modern Romance // Goldfrapp -- Number 1 // Snowden -- Time of the Season // Wolfgang Press -- Respect // Patsy Cline -- Seven Lonely Days // Wanda Jackson -- Hot Dog! That Made Him Mad // Bette Midler - Chapel of Love // The Maguire Sisters -- Ding Dong // Frankie Goes to Hollywood -- Do You Know the Way to San Jose // Sandie Shaw with the Smiths -- Jeanne // Herb Alpert -- This Guy's in Love With You // Marlene Dietrich -- The Laziest Gal in Town // Giant Drag -- Wicked Game // Dinah Washington -- Fat Daddy // Irma Thomas -- Time is on My Side // Bryan Ferry -- Take Me to the River // Madonna -- Shoo-Be-Doo // Q Lazzarus -- Goodbye Horses
